Consent Form: Follow-Up Studies

You have already given consent to allow me to contact you regarding specific stages of my PhD research project – ‘Island connections and return migration: The role of return migration in the sustainable repopulation of Scotland’s Islands’.  This allows me to contact you to tell you about opportunities to be involved in this specific research project.

Sometimes researchers carry out follow-up studies with participants several years after the original study has been completed. This can help us understand how situations and circumstances change over time. There is no obligation to be part of any future research, either for this project or future studies.  However, if you are happy for us to keep your details on file to contact you about opportunities to take part in follow-up studies in the future, you can confirm this by completing the consent form below.

If you provide your contact details your personal information will be securely stored on servers at the University of Aberdeen and / or the James Hutton Institute which are only accessible by a member of the research team (listed below). This information will be stored separately from any wider information you provide for this research project and will only ever be used by a member of the research team to contact you about opportunities to be involved in follow up studies. You are not obliged to take part in any follow up studies and you can request that your information is deleted at any time by contacting one of the research team (details at bottom of page).

Alternatively you can download a copy of the follow-up study consent form, complete it and return it to k.gow.21@abdn.ac.uk.

If you are happy to be contacted about future follow-up studies please provide the information requested and tick each box to indicate your consent and sign at the bottom of the sheet.
